Tai Chi
in the Garden
We believe a garden is a gateway to the natural world by enhancing our connection and appreciation of the living things around us. The serenity of the Garden is a perfect environment for the moving meditation, Tai Chi. This gentle martial art is invaluable for reducing stress, increasing energy and creativity, and overall well-being. In this series of four classes participants easily learn the basics of this powerful Chinese system of exercise in the relaxing and comfortable setting of our Pamplin Center.

Introduction
to Grafting Maples
Where do those dwarf shrubs with the fascinating shapes come from? If you have wanted to learn the basics of grafting, this is the perfect opportunity. Tobey Chadsey, of Meadowcroft Farm, has grafted thousands of conifers and Japanese maples during his 24 years as a nurseryman. In this hands-on class you will learn the techniques, tools and art of grafting demonstrated on maples. There will be grafting knives available at the wholesale price of $30 and sheaths (the knives are sharp!) for $8. Bring your own knife if you have one. Other materials will be provided.
