Rain Gardens 101
Rain gardens are a great way to add beautiful landscaping to your yard and protect our overloaded urban streams at the same time. Join us to learn how to build a rain garden on your property to keep our streams clean and healthy! You will learn how to assess your site to determine best location, calculate impervious surfaces, size rain gardens, determine soil suitability, choose appropriate plants, and how to maintain your new rain garden. You will receive a rain garden packet to take home that shows all the steps.

The Creative Basket Maker
In this two-day workshop, ethnobotanist Margaret Mathewson will share her enthusiasm and deeply informed skill in basketry. This is a chance to exercise your own creativity under the guidance of a master. Create a work of art in a rustic style random weave that may take the form of a basket with a handle, a flattened wall pouch, a bird house or feeder, a lantern holder or anything else you desire for your home or garden. You may add a decorative star or leave it plain. All natural materials include ivy, clematis, wisteria, beargrass, cedar root, blackberry root and willow wands and bark. Materials included in the price. Bring any special materials you might want to use in your creation.
