Virtual Tour

The garden is a lovely place to visit throughout the year.
The following photos represent a simple tour, through several seasons!

1. House
We begin our tour here in front of Rae Selling Berry's house. Built in 1939, the house is the location of our offices, conservation laboratory, library, classroom, information center, and gift shop. In 2002, it was officially nominated to the National Register of Historic Places.

2. Primroses
We care for the garden of Rae Selling Berry. She was known around the world for her ability to grow plants from seed. Here primroses, some of her favorites, line a seasonal stream in a profusion of color.

3. Front lawn
A plantswoman of vision, Rae Selling Berry planted the main lawn with trees and shrubs that provide interest throughout the year.

4. Dawn redwood
In this collector's garden, you'll find plants from around the world that were grown from seed and are now large trees.

5. Rock Garden
The largest public rock garden on the West Coast is a super place to see alpine plants from around the world without traveling to far places and climbing huge mountains.

6. Troughs
Regional natives and alpines from around the world grow side by side in our trough garden.

7. The Garden of Rare Beauty
Here Pacific Northwest rare and endangered plants are gathered for visitor education and enjoyment. Visitors can learn about our contributions to plant conservation locally, nationally and abroad.

8. Native Plant Trail
A stroll along this trail introduces gardeners to our approach to gardening for wildlife using native plants.

9. Rhododendron Forest
A plantswoman of vision, Rae Selling Berry planted these seeds knowing that there was a good chance she would never see the mature rhododendrons come into bloom.

10. Classroom
Our educational opportunities reflect the Garden's unique nature and staff expertise, celebrating the value of plants in our lives. A variety of group tours and small, hands-on classes enable participants to pursue their interests and learn in a variety of environments.
